Actor Barry Keoghan recently explains the beginning of his ‘hesitancy’ while filming the final nude scene for film Saltburn. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Keoghan said that he was initially hesitant to do the scene, but ultimately decided to do it because he believed that it was important to his character.
“At first, I was hesitant,” Keoghan said. “I’m not sure if I’m comfortable doing it. But then I thought about her character and I realized that it was important for her to get down on her knees and show her vulnerability. So I decided to do it.”
The nude scene occurs at the end of the film, after Keoghan’s character, Mark, experiences a life-changing moment. Mark was a rough and closed man, but after going through a traumatic experience, he began to learn to be more open and vulnerable. The nude scene shows that Mark is finally willing to show himself to the world.
Keoghan said he felt comfortable with the scene because he was working with a caring team. “The whole team was very professional and respected me,” Keoghan said. “They made me feel comfortable and safe.”
Saltburn is a thriller drama film directed by Mark Jenkin. This film stars Keoghan, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Paul Mescal. The film was released in the UK in December 2023 and received positive reviews from critics.
